On October 5, 2025, the mandatory national standard series GB 6675-2025 "Toy Safety" was officially released and will take effect on November 1, 2026. This series of standards represents the most fundamental and authoritative safety system in China's toy industry, covering basic safety requirements, mechanical and physical properties, flammability, chemical performance, and electrical safety. The standards specifically target emerging products such as viral toys and AI toys. China's toy industry is set to enter a new phase.

Chemistry is the focus of this change. On the basis of the original, 12 new chemical substance limit requirements have been added, including formaldehyde, azo, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, transferable N-nitrosamines and their precursors, formamide, short chain chlorinated paraffin, benzene, toluene, xylene, total volatile organic compound (TVOC) release, and allergenic aromatic agents, totaling 14 chemical substance limit requirements.
