On September 25, 2025, the National Health Commission, in collaboration with the State Administration for Market Regulation, issued Announcement No. 6 of 2025, officially releasing the national food safety standards "Food Contact Materials and Products—Coatings and Coatings" (GB 4806.10-2025) and "Food Contact Silicone Rubber Materials and Products" (GB 4806.16-2025). The aforementioned standards were issued on September 2, 2025, and will be formally enforced as mandatory requirements starting September 2, 2026.
The transition period has ended. Relevant enterprises must promptly confirm the standard version used in the test report to avoid rendering the report invalid and hindering product market entry due to outdated standards. Shiding Testing reminds all manufacturers, importers, and users of food contact materials to ensure compliance with the new standards through proper transition.
Key reminder: Compliance nodes have been switched; old reports may no longer be valid
·After the new standard is officially enforced, reports issued based on the old standards (such as the silicone part in GB 4806.10-2016 and GB 4806.11-2016) will no longer be recognized in most regulatory scenarios.
·Rubber and silicone have been clearly separated: rubber will continue to comply with GB 4806.11-2023, while silicone must comply with GB 4806.16-2025.
·Due to changes in testing conditions and projects, some old data cannot be directly updated and needs to be resubmitted for inspection.
Enterprises should immediately verify the list of raw materials, testing items, and the validity period of the report, and if necessary, rearrange the testing.
