Strong Assistance | The SVHC list is about to increase to 242 items, and triphenyl phosphate is included in the SVHC list

On October 16, 2024, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced that the European Commission of Member States (MSC) had agreed at its October meeting to designate triphenyl phosphate (TPP) as a substance of high concern (SVHC) due to its endocrine disrupting properties in the environment.

ECHA plans to officially list this substance as a highly concerned substance (SVHC) in early November, increasing the number of SVHC items from 241 to 242. The substance information is as follows:

The substance was initiated for public review in January 2024 and should have been identified as an SVHC by June 2024. However, due to the discovery of a large amount of new information prior to the identification of the substance, the identification process was suspended by ECHA. It was clarified in this meeting that the substance will be added to the list in November.
